Behind Photographs – The most famous photographs presented by their photographers by Tim Mantoani

hands down #reblog

(via lilmisskiddo)

centimeters:

deirdreamer:

recalling what i learned from ma’am opiana (advanced chemistry teacher in high school) about memorizing the solubility rules. [italicized phrases are her additional notes on the matter]
the “five-finger” solubility rules
thumb: nitrates, acetates, and chlorates are soluble.
index finger: with very few exceptions, alkali salts such as sodium or potassium and ammonium salts are soluble.
middle finger: most chlorides, bromides, and iodides are soluble except those of silver, lead, and mercury(I).
ring finger: most sulfates are soluble except those of barium, lead(II), strontium, and calcium. [CaSO4 is slightly soluble]
little finger: most carbonates and phosphates are insoluble except those of ammonium and alkali metals [or group I elements]. [Ca(OH)2 is slightly soluble. Most sulfides are insoluble except Ca, Sr, Na, K, and ammonium]

This artist is one of my favorites. He captures very vivid colors and sets very interesting tones and moods that never fail to amaze me. I’m completely hooked and I dream of being good like him. :) View high resolution

Photography by Alex Stoddard.

“Alex Stoddard is one of those talented teenage photographers who knows how to express themselves. His self-portraits are all incredibly unique and after viewing them you’re left wondering where he’s going to take you next. What I enjoy most is that you can almost feel his passion come through. His commitment to not only executing on an idea but doing it well, is apparent to anyone who sees his photos.”
